Welcome to the Law Offices of Marcia J. Brewer
| "As an attorney, my mission is to achieve the best possible result for each client in a caring, supportive, cost effective manner." | About Marcia J. Brewer I am a graduate of Loyola Law School and have been in practice for over 27 years. I began my legal career as a research attorney for an appellate court, and then was hired by the District Attorney’s Office. In 1981, I started my own practice which is divided between family law cases and criminal defense work in Federal Court. This web site is devoted to my family law practice. For further information about criminal defense, please contact my office. I consider myself to be a guide to my clients, helping them navigate from one end of the path to the other. I work on a very practical, cost effective basis while maintaining a high level of quality representation. It is important to me that my clients know about the law and procedure dealing with divorce situations, as well as what is going on with their own case. Therefore, I make sure they are fully informed at all times. While I want my clients to reach their goals, I counsel them to be realistic about the possible outcomes. I am very accessible and easy to reach My first choice is to settle cases without going to Court. I make every effort to resolve my cases by working toward an amicable resolution through settlement proposals and meetings. However, when the situation calls for it, I can easily change from mediator to tenacious litigator. I have had extensive trial experience, trying over 150 jury trials in criminal cases, as well as numerous family law cases and Order to Show Cause hearings. This gives me courtroom experience and knowledge that many other family practitioners do not have. Whether I am being a litigator or a mediator working toward a settlement of your case, I will create a safe place for you and help make sense out of your situation, get you through it, and on with your life. I have been a member of the California State Bar Association since 1977. Currently, I am active on the Executive Committee of the Solo Small Firm section of the State Bar, and am a member of the Family law sections of the Los Angeles County Bar and California State Bar. |
